Powerful Left-handers

World’s Top 10 Most Powerful Left-Handed People

I hope to make this list one day. There are many interesting facts about left-handers in the video below. For example: There are more left-handers with IQs over 140 than there are right-handers, and 4 of the last 5 US Presidents were left-handed. Watch the video for more “lefty” facts!

Tangled up in friendship

“Without friends no one would choose to live.”

~ Aristotle

“To the query, ”What is a friend?” his reply was, ”A single soul dwelling in two bodies.””

~ Aristotle

These brilliant descriptions of friendship aptly depict the intense emotion and spiritual awareness two people can have when they allow themselves to be completely entangled in harmony. Once entangled, there is no thought of status, imperfections, or competition of any sort between each other. As two become one, like vines clinging to a fence, they only seek to keep the intense entanglement alive and nothing else. When separated, there is an empty and hungry feeling that yearns for more entanglement so the two souls, bodies and minds can be properly nourished once again.

The answers to life are found here

“You need to make a commitment, and once you make it, then life will give you some answers.”

~ Les Brown

Answers to life’s difficult questions don’t come easy. You need to make the effort to commit yourself to something or someone before you can begin to understand the mystery that lies within you. Then the answers will be revealed to you.

Starry, starry night

The following quotes all come from one of my favorite painters and philosophers, Vincent van Gogh. In 1998, my mother, her best friend and I were fortunate enough to see a very special art exhibition in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) that showcased most all of his major and minor paintings in one location. It was the first and only time all his works from the Van Gogh family museum in Amsterdam were brought together with all his great paintings in America. It was amazingly fun to see so many of his great works close-up and personal. His character and talent were uniquely awesome and inspiring! I’ll never forget that day as I witnessed some of the greatest works of art by a true innovator.

“The best way to know God is to love many things.”

“If one is master of one thing and understands one thing well, one has at the same time, insight into and understanding of many things.”

“The more I think about it, the more I realize there is nothing more artistic than to love others.”

“Love is something eternal; the aspect may change, but not the essence.”

“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.”

“Conscience is a man’s compass.”

“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?”

~ Vincent van Gogh

What are you a slave to?

“Being busy is good. Being busy making money is better. Being busy with your closest friends is best!”

~ James Filbird

Each day we’re busy living our lives doing things that take up our time. Because we need to make time for anything that needs to be done, we should use our time very wisely. Make enough money in life so you can live happily but never be a slave to it. If you’re a slave to the things that take up most of your time, then you can’t do the very best thing with your time that doesn’t cost any money – being with your friends. Don’t be a slave to the things that take you away from your friendships and family. Memories with friends and family are with you forever and they can’t be bought anywhere, anytime, nor at any price.

My Epitaph

“If I am to die just as I am, let it be in a manner that all humanity will have been proud to have known me.”

~ Eleesha

What great words to be able to say about one’s own life. These are the words I want engraved on my tombstone. My greatest hope is that all the people who closely knew me will say I was a noble, honest, giving, sincere, kind, charitable human being.

What are you creating within yourself?

“The self is not something that one finds. It is something that one creates.”

~ Thomas Szasz (1920-) American Psychiatrist

You are the artist of your life – the one who shapes your personality, attitude, moral judgment, career path, friendships, etc. From birth, you have everything you need to make something of yourself in life, so there is no need to look for it. Start creating your life today into something beautiful.

Hahaha…I’m laughing at you now.

“If you cant laugh at Yourself, you give others permission to do it for you.”

~ Sarge

If you don’t laugh at yourself when you make a mistake, fail at something, embarrass yourself or lose face, then you will be miserable from all the people laughing at you. Find a reason to laugh at yourself and the world will be a happier place to live in.

Life is a race. Run hard!

“Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they’ve got a second.”

~ William James

Life is indeed a race. In order to finish it, you need to use all the resources from life you can find. You must also run the distance to achieve your goals; just remember to keep going even when you feel tired. Sooner or later you’ll be rewarded with more energy to keep going so you can finish the race called “life.”

Love, and you’ll understand life

“All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love.”

~ Leo Tolstoy

portrait of Leo Tolstoy

Leo Tolstoy

Love is the only source for all who desire to learn, live and share their life with others. When you fully understand this, then you begin to understand what real love is. It’s not a feeling – it’s a lifelong attainment that requires mind, body and soul synergy dedicated to discovering the mystery of life and finding its treasure. You need all three working together to know that you have really found love. Then hopefully, the mystery will be revealed to you in such a way that you will be overwhelmed with an abundance of…L.O.V.E.

What’s your plan?

“We always plan too much and always think too little.”

~ Joseph Schumpe

Plan your work and work your plan. Make sure to take more time to listen to your heart and mind along the way to your planned destination. You’ll better enjoy the experiences you have.

Try to know why before you die

“All men should strive to learn before they die, what they are running from, and to, and why.”

~ James Thurber

This is what we should be spending most of our time doing and not wasting it on our fears and/or with people who don’t help us achieve the answers to these questions.

The hope for a better tomorrow

“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.”

~ J.B. Priestly (1894-1984) English Author

The only thing that gets us up each morning is the hope for a better tomorrow. That’s it…nothing else! A day that brings new opportunities in life, work and love. Make sure you have a good reason to wake up each day before you go to bed each night; you’ll start seeing a better life around you if you do.

Mountainman Muir

“I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.”

~ John Muir

In and around Yosemite State Park, USA, I have walked some of the many famous foot trails made by John Muir. During the mid-1800’s in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, he opened the way to the mountains so that everyone who visited there could see them in their native environment. They are some of the most beautiful foot trails in the world. Thank you John Muir for your love of nature and life.

Below are some photos taken along some of the John Muir trails:

Give with all your heart

Read the story below and ask yourself, “What if everyone in this world had a heart so giving and caring as this man did?” Even if 10% of the people in the world were as loving as this man was, the world would be a much better place to live in. People like him should live forever in this world and should multiply like rabbits. It’s unfortunate though, this man will never win a Nobel Prize or will his life’s work be enshrined for all to see. Only popular, beautiful or wealthy people get that status. What makes people want to take more in life than they give?

Read the story here.

Zheng

Zheng Chengzhen was from Jinan, Shandong Province in eastern China. He "adopted" and cared for over 400 orphan children by selling his blood and digging through rubbish bins for plastic to sell at recycling centers. He died of pneumonia last week at age 63.

We two…me too!

“If you press me to say why I loved him, I can say no more than because he was he, and I was I.”

~ Michel de Montaigne

Simple and sweet! This is the way it should be when two people are in love. Nothing more needs to be said.

Can I help you?

“Life is short but there is always time for courtesy.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Courtesy is simply doing unto others what you would like them to do unto you.”

~ Anonymous

Treat people the way you want to be treated and you’ll have better friendships and enjoy life more. This is my treat to you today.

Patiently persevere

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, circa 1850.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

“Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.”

~ Longfellow

If you have something you really want in life, then never give up on trying to reach that goal of obtaining what you want. If you give up, you will surely never get what it is you want. Never give up!

Plan for luck

“All high achievers plan their work and work their plan, for they are keenly aware that “luck” is most often being prepared to take advantage of a situation.”

~ Unknown

This is one of the best quotes ever. It is 100% accurate and brilliant in its simplicity. Do you have a plan for your life? If so, then be sure and prepare yourself for the luck that comes your way. Many times, an opportunity comes our way and we don’t even know it. To be lucky in life, you need to be smart too.

Love requires no conditions

“Intense love does not measure, it just gives.”

~ Mother Teresa

When you are in a love relationship, there shouldn’t be any conditions attached to it. If someone can’t love you unconditionally, then you will be in a competitive and most likely an unhappy relationship. Real love isn’t about having to perform to some level for someone else or living up to their expectations. Love is all about giving freely and ACCEPTANCE!
