Give in…don’t give up!

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

~ Thomas A. Edison

If life gives you lemons, then make lemonade. If a door gets closed on you while seeking an opportunity, then go through the window. If someone tells you no, then tell yourself yes. People who succeed never quit and those who quit never succeed. Never but never give up when moving through life. otherwise you will fade into the masses who barely get by and are always unhappy with their life.

Live with a purpose…today!

“A life without purpose is a languid, drifting thing; Every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves: This day let me make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is naught!”

~ Thomas A. Kempis

Everyday you should be thankful for the opportunity that today brings you. If you want to have a life that is full of purpose, then memorize the above quote, repeat it to yourself everyday and make the necessary actions to fulfill its intent. Start living today with the thought that what you have done up till now is not complete. It will motivate you to excel today and yearn for many tomorrows.

Sharing success

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”

~ Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein during a lecture in Vienna in ...

“Never mind what others do; do better than yourself, beat your own record each and everyday, and you are a success.”

~ William Boetcker

Being successful just isn’t about being powerful, famous, wealthy, intelligent or beautiful. It’s more about being liked, loved, honest, loyal, sincere, considerate, conscientious, charitable and pure in heart. It’s also about doing what you want to do without any concern for what others are doing or what they think success is. If you really want to be successful, don’t be caught up in what the world considers success, otherwise you will lose your way to obtaining it. When people start to realize how valuable you are to them, then you earned the right to be called a success. When you reach success, devote yourself to helping others become successful. More successful people in the world means there is more success to share. What are you doing to become successful?

Mistaken identity

“The sages do not consider that making no mistakes is a blessing. They believe, rather, that the great virtue of man lies in his ability to correct his mistakes and continually make a new man of himself.”

~ Wang Yang-Ming (1472-1529) Chinese Philosopher

Making mistakes is a part of life but correcting them isn’t something we work hard enough at doing. A surefire way to improve yourself is to always be looking for ways to do things better than the way you did when you failed. Since we are not born with a life manual and instruction booklet, we must use our experiences to get us through life which sometimes have favorable outcomes and not so favorable outcomes. So, next time you make a mistake – big or small – carry on and virtue will come to you.

Is your heart like a spinning wheel?

Principle — particularly moral principle — can never be a weathervane, spinning around this way and that with the shifting winds of expediency. Moral principle is a compass forever fixed and forever true.

~ Edward R. Lyman

Are people born with good hearts? Can people learn how to have a good heart? Can people change what they perceive as good or bad whenever they feel like it and be considered a moral person? The answer is yes (and no!) to all these questions depending on who is answering them. What can’t be argued is that true good-heartedness does not change – it remains fixed and unshakable even when tested beyond courage. Trying to act like you have a good heart will only bring disappointment to those who see the real you and also to yourself. Search your soul for instruction and mimic what good people do and you will be a victor over what is considered wicked and evil by most people. A good heart makes a happy person no matter what their condition or situation is in life. It can’t be bought nor can it be taken away, unless of course you let it.

Give in to greatness

“It is the nature of man to rise to greatness if greatness is expected of him.”

~ John Steinbeck (1902-1968) American Novelist

What is expected of you? To care for your parents, husband, children, friends, job, business, or even yourself. Whatever things you are to take care of, do them well and to the best of your ability and along the way you will find greatness in some form or manner. Don’t do these things to be great but rather do them in earnest and find greatness from them along the way.

My love is alive!

“The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.”

~ Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) Irish Dramatist and Poet

If you always strive to be the best you can be as a friend, lover, mate, spouse or human being and do it with sincerity and fullness of heart, you’ll be loved by many. Love, kindness and warmth are contagious which is why everyone who exhibits these traits will find them in their lives.

Thank you for being my friend

“We must find time to stop and thank the people who have made a difference in our lives.”

~ Dan Zadra

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

~ Mark Twain

“Nothing is ever lost by courtesy. It is the cheapest of pleasures, costs nothing, and conveys much.”

~ Erastus Wiman

For me, courtesy and kindness are absolute requirements between friends. It’s easy to be courteous and kind to those you consider your friends and doing it brings much delight to them. Showing sincere and heartfelt appreciation to friends is something money and gifts cannot substitute. In fact, money won’t even buy them. So, since it is free to give and abundantly found, there is no excuse for not being courteous and kind to those you truly appreciate. Try it more often and see just how happy you make others feel. That happiness you give them will fill your heart. Think of someone you can thank for their friendship, kindness or help and contact them and tell them how much you appreciate them for being a friend.

What’s holding you back from getting what you want?

“The world of achievement has always belonged to the optimist.”

~ J. Harold Wilkins

The meaning of Optimism: “an inclination to put the most favorable construction upon actions and events or to anticipate the best possible outcome.” Be an optimist and achieve just about anything you want to do in life. Do I need to say anymore?

Help yourself by helping others

“If you have not often felt the joy of doing a kind act, you have neglected much, and most of all yourself.”

~ A. Neilen

If you can’t spend some of your time helping others, then what are you living for? If you need reasons for helping others, just think of all the times that people have helped you during your lifetime and where you would be now without their help. Think of someone who needs your help and offer it to them. You’ll feel much better doing it…and so will they!

Relax and then realize

“Don’t seek, don’t search, don’t ask, don’t knock, don’t demand – relax. If you relax it comes. If you relax it is there.”

~ Osho

The harder you try to get what you want in life, the worse things turn out. Sometimes, you just need to let things come to you instead of you trying to force them into your life. It takes a lot of patience, faith in yourself and courage to do this but in the end, you will get what you deserve.

What is stopping you?

“As we strive for success and a better quality of life, it is our duty is to proceed as if limits to our ability do not exist.”

~ James Filbird

The only way you can achieve financial success, good health, a happy family, lasting friendships and personal peace is to live as if there is nothing that can stop you from obtaining them. Learn how to do this from others who are already successful at doing them and also through positive thinking.

Do the best you can with what you have!

“I find that it is not the circumstances in which we are placed, but the spirit in which we face them, that constitutes our comfort.”

~ Elizabeth T. King

In our live’s, we can only do the best we can with what we have to work with. If you don’t have enough to work with, then wait until you have what you need before moving on. Don’t cheat others and don’t do anything illegal or immoral in your attempt to find comfort. You’ll never gain favor or good Karma if you do.

Futile friendship?

“To be capable of steady friendship or lasting love, are the two greatest proofs, not only of goodness of heart, but of strength of mind.”

~ William Hazlitt (1778-1830) English Essayist

To prove you are a good friend, you need to show the goodness and character of your true heart. If you don’t or can’t do this, then you are more or less wasting your time with someone if what you seek is a sincere long-term friendship. Nothing lasts forever, so you might as well make the most of your friendships since life is short.

Live to give!

“The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.”

~ William James

Can you think of anything better you can do with your life that will live on after you have left this world? Making contributions that help others become better people will not only give you satisfaction but enrich the lives of other people for generations. Make it a goal in your life to leave a legacy so that others will benefit from your good-hearted accomplishments.

Do unto others as you would do unto yourself

“You can stand tall without standing on someone. You can be a victor without having victims.”

~ Harriet Woods (1927-) American Politician

In your pursuit of achievements in life, whether they be small ones or large ones, don’t hurt yourself or anyone else in the process. If you do, then you will attract bad Karma to yourself, which in turn will bring you the same pain and problems that you caused others to suffer in your selfish pursuits. If you don’t believe this, then hurt others in your pursuits and then wait for Karma to strike back.

How deep are your convictions?

“The height of your accomplishments will equal the depth of your convictions.”

~ William F. Scolavino

What you achieve in life is directly related to how much effort you work towards something. If you want to reach the moon, you need to shoot for the stars. If you’re not willing to work hard enough at what you really aspire for in life, then you won’t see any accomplishments. Remember that you only get out of life what you put into it.

Are you a prudent student?

“A prudent man will think more important what fate has conceded to him, than what it has denied.”

~ Baltasar Gracian (1601-1658) Spanish Philosopher

To become a good student of life, you must be prudent. This means you are intelligent, judicious, discreet, and judgmatic.  Life is full of crossroads that require us to be all of these adjectives. Learn how to be a prudent student of life and you’ll probably end up right where you want to be.

Are you all you can be?

“Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be.”

~ Unknown

Life is about learning, searching, watching, listening, reaching, waiting, and dreaming. Along the way, we will stumble and fall but that is not the end at all. Use all your abilities to achieve all you can be in life and you will be happier.

You have the power!

“You don’t have the power to make life fair, but you do have the power to make life joyful.”

~ Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Knowing what you can and can’t change in your life will allow you to mature into a person who can understand the nature of power and its dynamics. Proper power potentially profits people perfectly.
