Forgetting all the wrongs

“To be WRONGED is nothing unless you continue… to REMEMBER it”

~ Confucius

Confucius, illustrated in Myths & Legends of C...

We’ve all been wronged before to some extent. No matter how badly you’ve been hurt by someone, there is only one real method of erasing it from your life – forgetting about it. If you allow it to fester in your mind and eat away at the part of you that is strong and good, then you will become diseased by it and it will erode away at your soul. If something is bothering you about what somebody did or said to you and it is somehow destroying your life, then stop thinking about it. If whatever they did to you hasn’t hurt you physically, then don’t let that action get the better of you. If you want to move forward with your life and grow bolder from the experience, then forgive them and you’ll be able to go about your life all the wiser and emotionally stronger. Now that’s something you never want to forget.

  1. I really enjoyed this post for a few reasons. The first being that it is true that what we focus our minds on continues to live in the mind. One thing that I have learned over the past few months is that our language is the major contributor to much of our reality. If we continue to talk about things, or write, we keep what happened to us alive. Now, you can never truly stop thinking about something, because our mind is a constant mechanism for bringing up the past or the future, but you can take into account that you are having some emotions or thoughts about a certain event that happened, and just sit with it. Don’t try to fight those emotions, just let them be, and then eventually they will pass. Awesome post I can’t wait to read the rest to come.

  2. Nice to hear from you Evan. You’re absolutely right about your comment. We become what we think about. If you allow bad seeds to grow in your mind, then you will not have room for fruitful seeds to influence you. Moving on and killing the bad seeds in our mind is the only way to progress in life.

  3. This I shall keep in mind. Thanks. Really great post. 😀
